الملخص

      يعدُّ كتاب الكامل في التاريخ لابن الاثير (630ه/1232م) من الكتب التاريخية المهمة, اذ برز مؤلفه في تقديم سرد ماساوي يعبر عن العاطفة والهلع الذي عكس حجم فاجعة العالم الاسلامي في وعي معاصري الغزو المغولي, والذي يعد من ابرز التحولات في واقع العالم الاسلامي في مطلع القرن السابع الهجري/ الثالث عشر ميلادي, فقد شكل ذلك الغزو نقطة فاصلة في تاريخ الدولة الخوارزمية وما شاهده المشرق الاسلامي فيما بعد من صدمات عسكرية وسياسية واجتماعية واقتصادية انتهت بسقوط الخلافة العباسية, فقد وصف ابن الاثير الرعب الذي احدثه غزو المغول وجرائمهم في النفوس والموقف العام حتى سنة (628ه/1230م) التي يتوقف عندها ابن الاثير عن الكتابة, اذ انه قد توفي ابن الاثير بعدها بسنتين, وتمتاز معلوماته بدقتها وغزارتها عن المرحلة الخطيرة والحساسة في التاريخ الاسلامي, كما اتبع ابن الاثير المنهج التحليلي النقدي في سرده للروايات.
